Apple rolls out iOS 17.5, iPadOS 17.5 to developers: Here’s what new

 

Apple has rolled out the beta versions of the upcoming iOS 17.5 and iPadOS 17.5 updates to developers for testing purposes. The latest release candidate version arrived after the Cupertino-based tech giant seeded four other beta versions of the iOS and iPadOS 17.5 updates. Here are all the details about the latest beta version for iPhone and iPad’s upcoming operating systems:

Registered developers can opt-in for the latest beta versions by opening up the Settings app.Go to the Software Update section, tap on the “Beta Updates” option, and toggle on the iOS 17 or iPadOS 17 Developer Beta.
An Apple ID associated with a developer account is also required to download and install the beta version. Apple has also released an RC version of iOS 16.7.8 for devices that are unable to run ‌iOS 17‌.

iOS 17.5, iPadOS 17.5 beta for developers: What’s new

Most of the features that Apple promised would be arriving with the ‌iOS 17‌ have already been released. However, the latest iOS 17.5 brings some additional app ecosystem changes that were required for iPhones and iPads to operate in the European Union (EU).

With the latest beta versions, app developers can now offer iPhone and iPad users in the EU to download apps for their devices directly from their websites. Moreover, users in this region will also be able to download apps through other app marketplaces.
The iOS and iPadOS 17.5 beta version also includes code changes about the new Apple Pencil models and a Battery Health feature for the iPad. This update will also add colour colour-changing widget for the Apple Podcasts widget, mobile device management, third-party item tracker alerts and the capability to block all participants in a group FaceTime calls.
